found object assemblage and mosaic 2005/2014, 40 inches X 20 inches

Inspired by a mosaic artist I saw at Laguna Beach's Sawdust Festival, I took a mosaics class.  A few mosaic experiments later I created this piece.  Originally intended to be a patio table top, a failed attempt to cover the top with a layer of acrylic to make it an even, flat surface led to this piece sitting in a shed for 8 years.  Inspiration struck again in 2014 and I was able to remove the acrylic without too much damage and recreate the piece as just art.  A MerGod speeds across the sea on on his midnight mission.
